Nissan App information overload

I drive Nissan LEAF. For everything on the planet there is an app. There is one for LEAF too. As far as I remember this app is on it’s second iteration. The purpose of the app is to check the status of the charging so you know how many miles you can drive. There are few other things you can do like remote starting charging session and starting the climate control etc with the app. The current app design displays all of these options and a little more. However the UI itself appears to be cluttered. Too much information cramped in the UI and to help you out it provided an Icon legend too. So you know what each icon means and what it does.

I took a stab at this design with the [fusion_builder_container hundred_percent=”yes” overflow=”visible”][fusion_builder_row][fusion_builder_column type=”1_1″ background_position=”left top” background_color=”” border_size=”” border_color=”” border_style=”solid” spacing=”yes” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” padding=”” margin_top=”0px” margin_bottom=”0px” class=”” id=”” animation_type=”” animation_speed=”0.3″ animation_direction=”left” hide_on_mobile=”no” center_content=”no” min_height=”none”][fusion_highlight color=”#f4ed22″ rounded=”no” class=”” id=””]primary goal[/fusion_highlight] to know how many miles I can get. Anything else is secondary. I removed the non functioning Nissan logo to free up some space. Re-purposed some of the UI elements from their app. Improved the overall design so one glance I know how many miles I get and how much charging has been done. The first screen shows the information in the familiar % circle. The second screen is an alternative to the first screen only, with 12 bars to show the charging activity. In case you are wondering Nissan LEAF dashboard in the car has 12 bar system to indicate the state of charging. With my design you just tap anywhere on the screen to switch to the other option. Bars or %. Just tap. Also made the miles number big because that’s the primary goal. Your thoughts?[/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
